There are several huge lime trees around Allexton Church - a sweet scented flower, that I remember drinking in an infusion - tilleul. Proust dipped his memory-stimulating madeleine in a tisane of lime flowers, and the tree is celebrated in Wilhelm Müller's Winterreise poem "Der Lindenbaum" set to music by Franz Schubert.
