a glut of goldfinches

More butterflies
At last a few butterflies . . .
red admiral on a buddleia bush
I'm quite intrigued by the spiral of the coiled proboscis.
I also saw lots of peacocks and several whites and yesterday a blue (holly blue possibly, but no pic).

Poppies
The field just outside Gretton, on the road to Harringworth is stunning again this year. It's visible as a patch of scarlet from the other side of the valley.
